This site is the home of Dalcroze Australia - you will find information here about the Dalcroze approach, about ordering books, CDs and other resources, and training happening in your area.

2-3 July @ Ascham School, 188 New South Head Rd, Edgecliff, NSW 2027, Australia
4 July in Killara, NSW (details on application)

THE APPROACH
The Dalcroze approach uses movement to provide a complete musicianship training. Its emphasis on expression and creativity is balanced by its ability to develop a deep understanding of musical language and skills. It is a creative, rigorous and holistic approach to the study of music that is applicable to the teaching of young children right through to the development of professional performers.

THE EVENT

Day 1 of this workshop is an introduction to Dalcroze Eurhythmics through classes in Rhythmic movement, Ear and Voice, Improvisation and Dalcroze Pedagogy. It is designed for music professionals, both teachers and performers, whether new to the method or seeking a refresher. It also offers further development for those on the Dalcroze Training Track. Please come dressed in movement-appropriate clothing, be prepared to move in bare feet, and bring your instrument for the Improvisation class. Light morning tea refreshments will be provided, please bring your lunch.

DAY 2 is open to those on the Dalcroze Foundation PLUS Training Track, and also to those experienced musicians who attended on Day 1 who wish to gain more experience.

DAY 3 is only open to those on the Dalcroze Training Track (Foundation PLUS) and will be held in Killara. Details on application. It will include Aural, Keyboard Harmony, Improvisation, Dance Forms and Dalcroze Pedagogy.
