The Dalcroze approach uses movement to provide a complete musicianship training. Its emphasis on expression and creativity is balanced by its ability to develop a deep understanding of musical language and skills. It is a creative, rigorous and holistic approach to the study of music that is applicable to the teaching of young children right through to the development of professional performers. The Sydney Dalcroze Days are led by Dalcroze Australia's Director of Studies Dr Sandra Nash.
2-day or 4-day registration options are available. Days 1 & 2 will focus on Music and Movement for Early Childhood teachers. Days 3 & 4 will focus on Dalcroze Enrichment for those who already have some experience and are seeking to enrich their practice in Rhythmic movement, Aural training and Improvisation.
