Carey Baptist Grammar School, 349 Barkers Rd, KEW, VIC
16 and 17 July, 2017, 9:30am-4:30pm daily
This Discover Dalcroze workshop is aimed at music professionals, both teachers and performers, and offers an introduction to the Dalcroze approach. Subjects will include Rhythmic movement, Ear & Voice, Improvisation, Pedagogy and the Dalcroze Subjects. Morning tea is provided.
Our teaching team comprises Dalcroze Australia's Director of Studies Dr Sandra Nash (Diplôme Supérieur - Institut Jaques-Dalcroze, Geneva), Dr Joan Pope OAM (Diplôme Supérieur - Institut Jaques-Dalcroze, Geneva) and introducing Polish Eurhythmics teacher Anna Dobrucka Massetti (BMusEd, MSc; Dalcroze Licence)
The Dalcroze approach uses movement to provide a complete musicianship training. Its emphasis on expression and creativity is balanced by its ability to develop a deep understanding of musical language and skills. It is a creative, rigorous and holistic approach to the study of music that is applicable to the teaching of young children right through to the development of professional performers. The Dalcroze approach also has applications in related arts and for professionals working with the elderly and people with special needs.
