Dalcroze Eurhythmics is a unique approach to Music Education. It is based on the premise that the human body is the source of all musical ideas. This site is the home of Dalcroze Australia - you will find information here about the Dalcroze approach, about ordering books, CDs and other resources, and training happening in your area.

ABOUT THE SUMMER SCHOOL
The Summer School is aimed at adult music professionals, both teachers and performers. It provides an opportunity for music educators and performers to enrich their practice by developing their personal musicianship skills and discovering new tools for teaching using movement, singing and improvisation.

The School offers an introduction to the approach for those new to Dalcroze, and separate streams for participants who have prior Dalcroze experience. Each day includes sessions in Movement, Rhythmics, Ear and Voice, and Improvisation. Afternoon sessions will address the application of Dalcroze to a variety of specific contexts.

Please come dressed in movement-appropriate clothing, be prepared to move in bare feet, and bring your instrument. A printed record of attendance will be available and light morning tea refreshments provided. Participants should provide their own lunch.

TEACHERS
In 2020 we are pleased to welcome to Australia international guest teachers Dr Louise Mathieu (Canada) and Jerison Harper Lee (Singapore), who will teach alongside local teachers Dr Joan Pope (Perth), Dr Sandra Nash (Sydney), Katherine Smith (Perth) and Virginia Norris (Perth).
